The birth of home improvement stores rooted in each region

  • October 1973

    Kahma Co., Ltd.(Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture; merged with Oscar Co., Ltd. in April 1990 to form DCM Kahma Co., Ltd. which operates stores in three prefectures in the Hokuriku region) entered the home improvement retail business and opened the Meisei Store in Nagoya City's Nishi Ward

    Ishiguro Shouten Corp. (company name changed to Ishiguro Homa Corp. MAKE Co.,Ltd., and Ishiguro Jusco Corp. merged and changed the company name to Homac Corp. (later DCM Homac Co.,Ltd.)) entered the home improvement retail business and opened the Nakazono Store in Kushiro City.

    Daiki Co., Ltd. established Dick Co., Ltd. (which merged with Daiki Co., Ltd. in October 1989 and later became DCM Daiki Co., Ltd.) and entered the home improvement retail business, simultaneously opening the Amayama Store and Tanimachi Store in Matsuyama City, Ehime Prefecture.

  • The joint purchasing company, DCM Japan Co., Ltd. was established
