Corporate history

October 1973 Kahma Co., Ltd. (Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture; merged in April 1990 with Oscar Co., Ltd., which operates stores in three prefectures in the Hokuriku region, to become DCM Kahma Co., Ltd.) entered the home improvement retail business, opening the Meisei Store in Nagoya's Nishi Ward.
April 1976 Ishiguro Shouten Corp. (Kushiro City, Hokkaido; company name changed to Ishiguro Homa Corp. in April 1987) entered the home improvement retail business and opened the Nakazono Store in Kushiro City.
November 1978 Daiki Co., Ltd. established Dick Co., Ltd. (which merged with Daiki Co., Ltd. in October 1989 and later became DCM Daiki Co., Ltd.) and entered the home improvement retail business, simultaneously opening the Amayama Store and Tanimachi Store in Matsuyama City, Ehime Prefecture.
August 1995 Ishiguro Homa Corp., MAKE Co.,Ltd., and Ishiguro Jusco Corp. merged and changed the company name to Homac Corp. (later DCM Homac Co.,Ltd.) and moved the head office to Sapporo City.
May 2002 Business alliance between Kahma Co., Ltd. and Daiki Co., Ltd.
February 2003 Business and capital alliance concluded between Kahma Co., Ltd., Daiki Co., Ltd., and Homac Corp.
May 2003 The joint purchasing company, DCM Japan Co., Ltd. was established by the four companies of Kahma Co., Ltd., Daiki Co., Ltd., Homac Corp., and Mitsui & Co., Ltd.
July 2005 Business integration announced by three companies
April 2006 Stock transfer plan announced
September 2006 DCM Japan Holdings Co., Ltd. established
December 2007 Acquired all shares of O-JOIFUL CO.,Ltd., making it a wholly owned subsidiary
June 2008 Daiki Co., Ltd. acquired shares of Home Center Sanko Co., Ltd., making it a subsidiary
March 2009 Daiki Co., Ltd. acquired O-JOIFUL CO.,Ltd. through a merger
July 2009 Launched the DCM e-Kurashi ONLINE (now DCM ONLINE) e-commerce site
September 2009 Delisted from Osaka Securities Exchange, Nagoya Stock Exchange, and Sapporo Securities Exchange (Tokyo Stock Exchange continued listing)
November 2009 Birth of the DCM Brand, as an original brand
March 2010 Acquired the subsidiary DCM Japan Co., Ltd. through a merger
June 2010 Changed the company name to DCM Holdings Co., Ltd.
February 2011 Homac Corp. transferred the shares of the subsidiary Direx Co., Ltd. to Hitachi Transport System, Ltd., and the company was excluded from scope of consolidation
October 2014 Kahma Co., Ltd. acquired all shares of Home Expo Co., Ltd., making it a wholly owned subsidiary
March 2015 Kahma Co., Ltd. acquired Home Expo Co., Ltd. through a merger
March 2015 Kahma Co., Ltd., Daiki Co., Ltd., and Homac Corp. changed their names to DCM Kahma Co., Ltd., DCM Daiki Co., Ltd., and DCM Homac Co.,Ltd.
July 2015 Swapped shares with Sanwado Corp. and the company joined the DCM Group
July 2015 Sanwado Corp. changed its name to DCM Sanwa Co., Ltd.
September 2016 Launch of corporate slogan "Do Create Mystyle"
December 2016 Swapped shares with Kuroganeya Co., Ltd. and the company joined the DCM Group
December 2016 Kuroganeya Co., Ltd. changed its name to DCM Kuroganeya Co., Ltd.
January 2017 Formed a capital and business alliance with Keiyo Co., Ltd., and it became an equity-method affiliate
April 2017 Started the Medium-term Management Plan (FY 2017 to 2019)
June 2019 Launched MYVOT as a common membership service for the DCM Group
December 2019 Announced the integration of five operating companies (DCM Kahma Co., Ltd., DCM Daiki Co., Ltd., DCM Homac Co.,Ltd., DCM Sanwa Co., Ltd., and DCM Kuroganeya Co., Ltd.) from March 2021
